Here at Abbey Fire Centre, we have been specialising in manufacturing and installing beautiful, unique fireplaces, gas fires and wood burning stoves in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham and the West Midlands for over 40 years.

A Family Affair

Abbey Fire Centre is on the Sutton Coldfield / Erdington borders in Birmingham and we are a well-known, proud to be, family business. We were established in 1981 by our father, Finbarr Neville, a builder by trade, who settled on creating what he thought should be the focal point of everyone’s house – the fireplace!

Abbey became a true family business when two of Finbarr’s children, Kieran Neville and Maria Higginson, joined him. Kieran becoming a HETAS and Gas Safe engineer and manages the installation side of the business, and Maria runs the showroom and marketing side. Kieran and Maria are supported by Andy on the installation team. Andy has been with Abbey Fire Centre in one form or another since leaving school and can turn his hand to anything – he’s basically family!

We are experts in all areas of solid fuel and gas fires, and are renowned for our expertise when dealing with wood burning stoves (did we mention we have been doing this for more than 40 years, way before stoves became popular again!)

Everything we do is bespoke – we can update & modernise your living room with a new contemporary fireplace or recreate a bygone era with a Victorian mantelpiece and log burner. The choice is all yours!

Old (badly installed) fire removed. New stove plus complete surround installed. Brilliant service. Been using for 3 months now and still extremely pleased. I would recommend this firm for any fire installation.

Just had fireplace fitted by Keiran&Andy of Abby fireplaces.
First class service start to finish explaining everything no pressure sale Just genuine advice also must mention Maria in the showroom who has a good knowledge of the business in great detail. Andy, Keiran arrived on time very polite explaining the process finished on time would highly recommend this company without hesitation we love the fireplace thanks again regards Andy.
